FLOYD D. GAINES, the firm's founder, was born in Bessemer, Alabama, on January 19, 1961.
He attended the University of Alabama (B.S., Accounting, 1983; J.D. 1992). He is a former Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy at the University of Alabama School of Law and has served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of Alabama.
He is licensed to practice in all Alabama Federal District Courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
Widely recognized as an innovative and effective litigator and trial lawyer, Mr. Gaines has litigated cases in virtually every county in Alabama and in each of the three Alabama Federal District Courts. Mr. Gaines has also litigated cases in the Georgia and Mississippi State Courts and participated in numerous oral arguments before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
He has served the Birmingham Bar Association as a member of the Continuing Legal Education Committee (2002) and was recently appointed to the Bar Association's 2003 Grievance Committee.

ANDREW P. WALSH was born in Northampton, Massachusetts on July 24, 1970.
He attended Tulane University (B.A., History and Political Science, 1992) and Western New England College School of Law (J.D., magna cum laude, 1997).
His accomplishments include : Note Editor and Member, Western New England Law Review; Author, "Mahoney v. RFE/RL, Inc.: The 'Foreign Laws' Exception to the ADEA-When a Collective Bargaining Agreement Equals a Law," 19 W. New Eng. L. Rev. 455 (1997).
Mr. Walsh is a prolific researcher and writer, and enjoys working on complex legal matters.
Mr. Walsh is licensed to practice in all Alabama State and Federal Courts, all Massachusetts State Courts, the Federal District Court of Massachusetts and the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts.

STEPHEN J. BECKER was born in New York, New York on January 25, 1969.
He attended Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut (B.A. History, minor in Political Science) and Cumberland School of Law, Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama (J.D. cum laude, 1996).
After graduating, Mr. Becker clerked for Justice Janie L. Shores of the Alabama Supreme Court and then for Judge H. Dean Buttram, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.
Admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1996, he particularly enjoys researching and writing on complex and novel questions of state and federal law.
